EMH
Collaboration between Mary Katrantzou and Erik Madigan Heck
‘The Surrealist Ideal’ attempts to follow a non-linear narrative revolving around fantasies and dreams, beginning with Mary’s AW12-13 print stories and expanded upon in these 11 works. The images are layered with photographs and applied painting – with scenarios first created in Erik’s New York studio as expansive sets with models suspended in the air and transformed into a dream state.'

Sway
Latest images regarding animal print/patterns/geometry/symmetry for my FMP. I projected my animations and patterns onto a model and took photographs and film (see a previous post). Here are some of the highlights.

Film stills
Stills from a film about Solar Energy I have included in my film for a brief set by SAS. I combined my film (above) with the audio from The Solar Film by Saul Bass made in 1980.

Mole Man
Today I found out about the Mole Man. He lived in this house, built in about 1850, on De Beauvoir Town until 2006 when he was evicted and moved to a hotel, then lived a flat nearby. I've been filming old buildings in Dalston today for my project on solar energy and got chatting to a man who lives on the street who told me all about Bill (nasty character apparently). During his 50 years living there, he dug 60ft of tunnels under the house causing it to sink by 1ft which is why he was forced out for safety reasons. He was a hoarder and the property was filled with trash (including cars and a boat) as high as the corrugated iron fence is here. I walk past this building every week so it's interesting to finally know it's history.

Zebra
Stills from an animation inspired by the zebra. I used after effects to make a kaleidoscope effect on an image of a zebra skin. I'm working on a few variations and using different animals and then will find a suitable place to project them onto, perhaps a model.
